Fire Pit: “Interconnected”

I have always loved fire; the warmth and color and dancing energy. Staring into a flame is soothing. I was motivated to build this fire pit however saddened by so many conflicts around the world.  The five ethnic faces try to represent peoples of the world, which are tentatively woven together. It seemed that we would surely all “burn” if we could not find common ground and recognize all the ways that we are the same. The fire pit bowl lifts out of the circle and the fire grate is removable as well.
